Boy Scouts

Mark Hill, Scoutmaster

Troop 18 is 60 years old this year and has been meeting at St. James for all that time.  On May 18th, at the 10am service, the scouts and congregation will celebrate recognition of this milestone. Boys who have completed the fifth grade, or are eleven years old, or have earned their Arrow of Light award, and are under the age of 18 are invited to join.

 

PFLAG

PFLAG is a national organization with over 400,000 members in the US, whose objective is the support, education, and advocacy for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. It began in Keene in 1998 with the commitment of six members from the parish. The organization is nondenominational and has met monthly to offer support. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the undercroft. All are welcome to come.

 

Parkinson's Support Group

This group are from all walks of life, whose lives have been affected by Parkinson's. They are young, old, retired and working, newly diagnosed and long term veterans, caregivers, friends and family. They meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the undercroft. Our meetings offer a safe and supportive atmosphere where confidentiality is honored

 

In from the Cold

In from the Cold is an emergency housing program that provides shelter for homeless families in our area, and is located on the top floor of our annex, the Jonathan Daniels Building. Referrals go through the City of Keene and Southwestern Community Services.

 

Keene Chamber Singers

Dita Englund

The Keene Chamber singers is a local choral group that meets at St. James Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM from September to June. The group offers several concerts to the community during the year. Anyone interested in joining the group may contact Dita Englund.

 

Keene State College Liaison Committee

The object of this committee is to welcome, reach out to, and involve Keene State College students at St. James, and to assist the Keene State College Chaplain in the ecumenical campus ministry. This committee meets quarterly, in the Rector's office.

 

Monadnock Area Psychotherapy & Spirituality Service (MAPS)

MAPS provides individual, group and family counseling. Its mission is to help people find meaningful answers to life's problems. MAPS is nonsectarian and provides a sliding fee scale related to people's income and ability to pay.

 

AA and Al-Anon

Two separate support groups hold meetings at St. James: Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM, in the undercroft, is an open AA meeting; Al-Anon meets on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM in the Common Room.
